Fish Varuval



Ingredients

Tuna/King Fish – ½ lb, cut into small cubes
Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
Fenugreek Seeds – ½ tsp
Onion – 1 cup, diced
Tomato - half, sliced
Ginger – 1 tsp, grated
Garlic – 1 tsp, grated
Green Chilly – 1, slit
Fennel Seeds – ½ tsp, ground
Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
Cumin Powder – ½ tsp
Curry Leaves – few
Salt – to taste
Oil – for frying

To Marinate

All- Purpose Flour – 1 tsp
Rice Flour – 1 tsp
Besan/Gram Flour – 1 tsp
Chili Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
Fish Masala – ½ tsp
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1tsp
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Pepper – ½ tsp, ground
Salt – to taste

Preparation

Marinate fish for 30 minutes. Shallow fry the fish and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When it pops, add fenugreek seeds. Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly, curry leaves and fry till onion turns light brown. Add masalas: red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and fry for a minute. Add fennel seeds and 1 tbsp of water and combine well. Add fried fish, sliced tomato and mix well. Cook for 2 more minutes and serve.
